Educated at Westminster School and University College
Oxford, where he got a degree in Engineering Science
and produced and released a feature film "Mouche".
After University he spent two years studying accountancy
before entering publishing eventually editing and
publishing a computer newsletter "Connectivity" -
publishing for a small company led him to also act
as financial controller producing full accounts pack
for auditing.
In 1988 as a service for subscribers to "Connectivity"
he started providing Internet email access and this
was followed by launching a successful Internet ISP
(WinNET) in the early 1990's. During this period he
became involved with a group of hobbyists involved
with creating a database called the Internet Movie
Database (www.IMDb.com)
and took that from text based hobby to commercial
Internet enterprise and top 50 internet site.
In 1998, after three years as one of the few profit
making internet companies, the Internet Movie Database
was sold to Amazon.com in a record-breaking, multi-million
dollar deal. He left the Internet Movie Database in
1999 to develop other projects. Since then he has
returned to his first love - movies - and developed
a number of scripts with Cyclops Vision and other
writers, directors and companies.
